The text of this article is taken from the newest evangelistic tract which can be found in .pdf booklet form here. It is a plea to the proud to repent of their pride and to give glory to God.

Do not be proud, for the LORD has spoken. Give glory to the LORD your God before He causes darkness.

Jeremiah 13:15-16 NKJV

PRIDE: Coming Before Destruction

More than 2,000 years ago a king named Herod made a speech at the occasion of a peace treaty. Those that heard him speak said that his voice was that of a god and not of a man. Rather than giving glory to God, King Herod took the praise for himself. In his pride, an angel of the Lord struck him, and he was eaten by worms and died (Acts 12:20-24).

Pride – a great sin among the nations throughout history is a sin that afflicts us today. Pride was involved when Eve in the garden listened to the serpent and gave the fruit to Adam so that he sinned against God. (Genesis 3:1-19). With all our advances in technology and understanding of the creation, we have not humbled ourselves before the Creator who is blessed forever, but we worship and serve the creature who is passing away.

Sodom, that infamous city of Canaan was notorious for its sin of pride. She was a city full of wealth, idleness, and in her pride she committed abominations before God. Therefore, God took her away through fire and brimstone from Heaven (Ezekiel 16:49-50).

Nebuchadnezzar, the great king of Babylon, the conqueror of Judah, the destroyer of Egypt, was full of pride. When he was repented, he made this confession of God, His “works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down” (Daniel 4:37).

Nebuchadnezzar’s son repeated his father’s sin. Full of pride, relishing in his wives, treasures, and friends, the Lord brought the Medes and the Persians into Babylon and destroyed Belshazzar and his kingdom in a single night. For the Lord said, you have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting (Daniel 6:27). For [Babylon] has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel…the most proud shall stumble and fall… I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour all around him” (Jeremiah 50:29-32).

The empires of the ancient world, from the Greeks and Carthaginians to the Romans whose emperors were supposed to be gods, all were full of pride and were destroyed. Modern history is much the same. The 1,000-year Reich of Nazi Germany lasted less than 15 years. The glory of Mussolini’s Italy ended with his body defiled. All the proud have been brought low by the God they denied, while His Word which they hated has endured.

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble

James 4:6

Many major cities around the world celebrates the great evil of pride. Rather than confessing we are but men who are here for a moment and perish, they act like they will live forever, delighting in evil, and condemning good. And yet the Lord cries out a warning that the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up – and it shall be brought low (Isaiah 2:12).

The world’s prophets tell you not to worry about pride, rather, celebrate it. Your friends and family members celebrate your pride with you. Though all the world join with you in pride, the Lord will still be against you. For this reason, we do not come to you today telling you Peace, Peace when there is no peace and you are on the path to destruction. Rather, we come to you crying Repent, the kingdom of God is at hand!

The Lord will destroy the house of the proud

Proverbs 15:25

The matter of destruction ought to possess your greatest attention. The inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah in one night were destroyed by God with fire and brimstone. The judgment of the Lord is coming again and is being revealed now as a warning to the living. Death has come and is coming upon you and all people, for all have sinned (Romans 5:12).

The judgment that is coming on the proud is a place of great terror and torment. It is the place Jesus refers to as Hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:44).

We plead with you… Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out (Acts 3:19).

The Bible on PRIDE

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.

Mark 7:21-23 NKJV

Hear and give ear: Do not be proud, for the Lord has spoken. Give glory to the LORD your God before He causes darkness.

Jeremiah 13:15-16 NKJV

The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, him I will not endure.

Psalm 101:5 NKJV

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 16:18 NKJV

When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.

Proverbs 11:2 NKJV

A man’s pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor.

Proverbs 29:23 NKJV

These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood.

Proverbs 6:16-17 NKJV

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.

Proverbs 8:13 NKJV

For all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

I John 2:16-17 NKJV

HOMOSEXUALITY: God Gave Them Up

What is good? You are living in a time where the answer to that question is generally, “whatever you say it is.” When it comes to a mother murdering her child, the world tells her, “Your choice is the right choice,” and “Your body your choice.” When it comes to sexuality and identity the world tells you, “You are how you feel” and “love is love.”

A problem with these slogans is that the underlying truth they present is “you” and you are always changing. Therefore, what is good is not stable but is constantly in motion, always changing, never certain, and will eventually die.

God who is good has not left you to determine good according to your own ideas but has rather shown you, O man, what is good: And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8).

If you love God, you will humble yourself before Him and seek to keep His commandments. If you hate God you will walk in pride, not only sinning against God but approving of those who do the same (Romans 1:32).

You know God today because you are made in His image. But do you glorify God as God? For much of the world the answer is “no.” Professing themselves to be wise, the world has exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God into an image like corruptible man and worshipped the creature instead of the Creator who is blessed forever, Amen.

For this reason, exchanging the truth of God for a lie, God said He gave them up to vile passions, men and women practicing homosexuality, given over to pride, haters of God, and similar sins.

These acts, activities, and lifestyles that you may engage in or celebrate as an ally are perverted pursuits. The word perverted is not meant as a slur but rather a statement meaning to turn aside or away from what is good and morally right.

Leaving what is good, that which is from God, you have become perverted in your ways. God refers to this perversion as a reprobate mind and is His judgment against a wicked people.

In similar manner God speaks concerning Sodom and Gomorrah. It is from Sodom of course that the name “sodomite” and “sodomy” are derived. Of these cities, God said, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire (Jude 1:7).

Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves over to sin and God gave them up to their sin. This is the reality of homosexuality and LGBTQ+ culture, God has given over to perversion those who have given themselves over to sin.

It is not the goal of this short pamphlet to convince you of your sin and misery in this perverted and sinful condition. Rather, this condition is known to you. Those who were in homosexuality before you and have been born again of the Spirit and saved by the blood of the Lamb of God have had this testimony – that they heard the Word of God from faithful witnesses and knew their own sin but for some time, perhaps years, they suppressed the truth, crying out louder against it and blocking their ears from it until God by His Word and Spirit convinced them of their sin and misery enlightened their minds to the knowledge of Christ and renewed their wills so that they could  embrace Jesus Christ who is freely offered to us in the Gospel.

The arm of the Lord is stretched out today toward you sinner by His Word. He has shown you what is good. Will you listen to Him who is good, hear the call of God today, and heed His call?

God’s Word is living and active. So with God’s Word and much prayer for the Spirit to work through that Word, we plead with you…Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins… Be saved from this perverse generation (Acts 2:28, 40).

The Bible on Homosexuality

The men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.” So Lot went out… and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!”

Genesis 19:4-7 NKJV

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person but…for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderer…, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

I Timothy 1:8-11 NKJV

Babylon, the glory of the kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah

Isaiah 13:19 NKJV

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

Leviticus 18:22 NKJV

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for another, men with men committing what is shameful

Romans 1:26-27 NKJV

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 20:13 NKJV

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirt of our God.

I Cor. 6:9-11 NKJV

TRANSGENDERISM: Strong Delusions and Doctrines of Demons

The apostle Paul warned the Galatians of deceivers who compelled Christians to be circumcised, not for any true religious or moral reason, but for this reason only, that they may boast in your flesh (Galatians 6:13).

In the day and age of bodily autonomy it may seem to you a strange thing to be compelled to cut off a piece of the flesh like was the case in Galatia. Nevertheless, that is exactly what we see taking place around us as men and women pay so called doctors to mutilate their flesh. They cut off portions of their body in order to rid themselves of a part they do not like so that they may appear as someone they are not.

These tragic and evil acts flow out of the same spiritual darkness as homosexuality and pride. Men and women seeking to rid themselves of their Creator seek to rid themselves of the person their Creator made them to be.

God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness… so God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:26-27).

If you consider yourself Transgender or have relatives and friends who do, it is time to recognize the truth of who we are as humans, mankind, creatures made in the image of God. The rejection of God is foolishness. Worse still, it leads to all manner of evil and sin – namely the butchery of one’s own flesh.

The Lord warns, these dreamers defile the flesh (Jude 8). The Lord has done all things well even making each person in His image, male and female. Do not call evil what God made good. If you have been warring against God in the sin of transgenderism, we plead with you to find peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Repent therefore and believe!

And Such Were Some of You…

The Gospel of God Concerning Jesus Christ

One of the greatest scenes in Scripture is John the Baptist contending with the people and calling them to repent when He sees Jesus coming to him near the Jordan and exclaims, Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world!

While warning the world of sin and judgment, the Lord in His infinite mercy and grace does not leave you with the pronouncement of death for all your perversions. Yes, He tells you that by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight (Romans 3:20). Yes, He says sodomites and homosexuals and boasters in the flesh and haters of God will not inherit eternal life. But He does not stop there. That is where we in our sin – apart from Christ. But then the glory is revealed.

But now…

You, who cannot find life or salvation on your own, have this glorious message revealed, life and salvation come to you.

By the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight… But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed…even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.

Romans 3:20-22 NKJV

Here is the good news of the gospel. A sinner alienated and at war with God by reason of sin can have peace with God, reconciliation, fellowship, and communion as a child of God through one way only – Jesus Christ the righteous.

This is the gospel you have likely heard mentioned many times – Jesus Saves!

Here is the gospel of Jesus Christ – sodomites, homosexuals, transgenders, allies, promoters, sexually immoral, sinners, cannot enter the kingdom of God… And such were some of you, but you were washed!

How can Jesus Christ save a wretched sinner like you or like me? How is it possible?

1. Remember that this is the reason God the Son, Jesus Christ, came into the world – to save sinners from their sins (Matthew 1:21). Surely the King of kings would do what He came to do and He did it.

2. Jesus lived perfectly for His people. In all His life, Jesus never sinned. He kept all the commandments perfectly. Those commandments are often referred to as the Ten Commandments, “You shall have no other gods before Me…, You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery… etc.” Those commandments which we break every day, Jesus never broke but was perfect in all His deeds (Exodus 20:1-17).

3. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Sometimes when we hear about our sins, we stop listening to the person talking about sin. We like to think we don’t sin and/ or won’t sin. But God says that “There is none righteous, no not one… there is none who does good, no, not one… all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10,12,23). The same God then told us that the payment, or the wages, of sin “is death” (Romans 6:23).

There is no other way to think about sin than this. We have all sinned and because we have all sinned, we have all earned death as the payment for our sin. Even as I write this for you, I am considering my own sins and how I too deserve death for those sins. I have been proud and unbelieving and therefore worthy of the just penalty which is death.

There is only suffering and burning in Hell for all eternity for the unrepentant sinner. Many times, while witnessing we ask people where they will go if they die that night. Occasionally people tell us they are going to Hell. They know where they deserve to go, and they are resigned to go there. Oh, what a terrible place to be or expect to be, and millions of people are already there with millions more on the path that leads directly there. If you live in the sins outlined in Scripture and highlighted in this pamphlet you are in route to hell.

Please don’t stop reading with this horror of Hell before you, for there is way of escape from its terrible fires.

Jesus died on the cross for sinners!

The Cross of Christ

God, who is rich in mercy and abundant in goodness and truth, long suffering and full of grace, loved the world so much that He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to live perfectly, and die for our sins, in our place. You have certainly seen in America a cross. The cross is very famous because at the end of Jesus’s life on Earth He was put to death at the hand of the Romans, under the urging of the Jews, and nailed to a cross where He hung until He was dead (John 19:30). He did not die for His own sin, for He had no sin. Rather, He died for the sins of others.

“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief” (I Timothy 1:15). Jesus came to save sinners (Matthew 9:13).

It was for this reason Jesus came to Earth, for this reason He took on flesh and the eternal Son of God became Man – that He might save His people from their sins by dying on the cross for them.

Many false religions tell us that Jesus died for our sins, “almost.” They wish for you to believe that there is a little bit more to be done for your salvation and that the little bit remaining must be done by your own efforts or work.

All these things are false messages and not good news at all but bad news because salvation in all those schemes relies on you… and you and I are worthless sinners unable to save ourselves.

When Jesus Christ came into the world and died to save sinners, He did not die to save sinners “almost.” He came to save sinners to the uttermost! That means, for those who have been saved by Jesus Christ, there is nothing more that can possibly be done for their salvation, because Jesus Christ has already done it. Jesus Christ has accomplished 100% of their salvation. Our complete debt has been fully paid by Jesus Christ.

How can you know salvation was completed with the death of Christ?

You can know salvation was completed because Jesus did not stay dead and continue to suffer. Instead, on the third day after His death, Jesus Christ rose from the dead (John 20:25-31).  God Himself, through the apostle Paul specifically said, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, not of works lest any man should boast…” (Ephesians 2:8-9). That work of salvation and grace of God was accomplished on the cross and completed because Christ rose from the dead!

Jesus died on the cursed cross and rose on the third day just as He said He would do. Jesus had power to lay down His life and also had power to raise up His life. He did just that (John 10:18). You see, this Jesus was no mere human like you or me. This Jesus was and is also God.

Jesus is God

Jesus has all power for He is God. He represented us because He is also fully man. Jesus Christ died that His children might not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16) and He rose again from the dead on the third day for our justification (Romans 4:25). Those who are justified are not only pardoned from sin but also made righteous in God’s sight with the righteousness of Christ given them (in what is called imputation) and received through faith alone.

Salvation comes to sinners completely by the grace of God alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, who is found in the Scripture alone, all for the glory of God alone.

Has the salvation of God come to you?

YOU

What must you do to be saved?

How can the salvation that Jesus gained by His life and death on the cross be yours? That question has been asked by many in the past. The answer is always the same. Repent of your sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved! (Acts 2:38; Acts 16:31).

The Lord puts it another way in Romans 10:9, 10, 13, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved… for whosever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life

John 3:16 NKJV

This is the work of the Holy Spirit that changes your heart of stone into a living heart. When this takes place (called being born again), all things become new and all the old ways of sin go away. You who are weary and heavy laden will find rest in Jesus Christ. The burden of sin will be taken away by Christ who made payment for your sin.

Freedom from the terrible weight, guilt, bondage, and power of sin today is still offered. Do you want freedom from the guilt and penalty of homosexuality, transgenderism, promotion of these sins, and all other sins?  There is one way and one way only and it is through Jesus Christ who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

Repent of the sin you have committed. Grieve your sin. Turn away from it. Apologize to God truthfully and from the heart. Ask Christ to help you hate your sin more. Believe that Jesus Christ alone saves you from your sin through His perfect life and His death on the cross. Rest in Christ alone for salvation. Join with a Bible believing Christ centered church. Come to our church, we would love to have you with us.

I plead with you, look to the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved for He is God and there is no other!

Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way. And the unrighteous man his thoughts: Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon

Isaiah 55:6-7 NKJV
