Last month the White House proclaimed June to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month. The president called the people of the United States to wave their flags of Pride high. Today, no fewer than three thousand men and women will offer their own children as blood sacrifices to the abortion god. Violence against the image of God plagues our nation. Why?
First, we have rejected God the Creator. “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth” (Genesis 1:1). The first verse of the Bible is arguably the most hated by the world. It tells us many things concerning God. He is eternal, before all worlds (Romans 1:20). He is Sovereign. He made all things and is therefore over all things. Professing to be wise the world has embraced foolish ideologies with the goal of casting off the image of God through surgery, drugs, and outright murder. We have rejected God the Creator.
Second, we have rejected God the all-powerful. “Then God said, let there be light, and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). God alone created ex nihilo, out of nothing. God alone is sovereign and all creatures must therefore submit, obey, and worship Him. There is no one like Him in all the world, He created the heavens and the earth. But the world in its sin despises God’s authority and power. It has darkened its mind to the truth. Those in the world consider themselves to be creators. As creators they consider themselves to have authority to destroy creation. In our sin, we have rejected the power of God. But it gets worse.
Third, we have rejected God the Son. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:15-17).
At creation, God made light. At the incarnation God sent the Light into the world when He sent His only begotten Son. As the world rejected the maker of light, so it rejected the Light Himself. It put the Holy one to death, nailing Him on the tree for saying such things as, “whosoever believeth on me shall not perish,” and doing such things as raising the dead and giving sight to the blind. We have rejected the Messiah.
Nevertheless, the truth remains. God is the all powerful, sovereign, Creator. He made all things. He did it in the space of six literal ordinary days and it was all very good. He made all things through His Son (John 1:1-14).
A thoughtful person might ask, “Who can create but God only?” To that, the writer of Hebrews might respond, “Now you are beginning to comprehend something of the glory of the Son of God from this second of His seven perfections in Hebrews 1:2-3.” Jesus is worshipped and glorified, credited with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit as the author of Creation, so that you might know that Jesus Christ the Son is God in the flesh. The divine Son is the same in substance with the Father and the Spirit and equal in power and glory. The Son is supreme over all things (the primary focus of Hebrews) because He is God.
Perhaps you are lost in sin and given to all manner of violence and evil continually. Here is the hope for all nations, all people, and you individually. Christ Jesus the creator the world, the Savior of sinners, the hope of glory. With the angels, the elders and the host of heaven, let us confess: “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created”(Revelation 4:11).

Beautifully written and so well put. Your blog so makes it clear that we are wicked, yet in His mercy and loving kindness being an All Mighty Sovereign all knowing God He chooses us to save us from our sins. I just read Psalm one last night. There too it indicates we the wicked and He is the Blessed one. Much thanks my Brother. You have given me much to meditate on and to be eternally thankful I am His. Blessings Stirling
